We woke this morning to cool temps (50s) and rain. The weather pattern has affected the Southeast as well the the rest of the country. We weren’t expecting really warm temps in the Panhandle but this is cooler then we’d like.
It was an 80 mile scenic drive to St. George Island that took us over a four-mile bridge that reminded us of the drive to Key West.
We arrived at St. George State Park around 1:30 PM and set up in a very nice site. Ron took Jewel for a walk along one of the many hiking trails available in the park. The temp was 56 but felt more like 36. The area is quite beautiful and we are surrounded by water on both sides.
The weather is expected to improve over the next few days and there is a lot to do in the area. We plan to get out early tomorrow and take advantage of the predicted sunshine.
