We drove to Fort Pickens CG anticipating beating the impending rain and to hopefully get a chance to walk on the beach. Fort Pickens is located on a spit of land called Santa Rosa Island bordered by the Gulf of Mexico on both sides. It is an absolutely beautiful place with snow white beaches and aqua blue waters.
Unfortunately the temp fell quickly and it got so cold that I opted out of a beach walk. Ron took Jewel for a short walk and then the rain started. So we settled in for the night and plan to go to the Naval Air Museum tomorrow.
