2nd Day Grayson Beach FL SP Wednesday 02/02/2011 Day (20)

The severe weather finally broke last night around 10 pm and this morning the skies are only slightly overcast. It’s not suppose to get above 53 degrees today but no rain in the forecast.

Last night I gave Jewel a bath and haircut. I usually groom her and do  good job but for some reason I butchered her haircut. Ron says she looks like a box car with a head. OOPHS!!!!

Ok Guys let go!

THE RED BAR

Along the way we’ve spoken to several people who strongly recommended that we stop at the Red Bar to eat and to take in the uniqueness of the place. It is very eclectic establishment but as advertised the food was wonderful. While we were there a man fell off his chair and hit the floor really hard. I thought – OMG and I going to have to do CPR??? He was ok but the chair wasn’t, hence the fall.

After lunch we drove to Topsail  another CG that came highly recommended by many people. Although it was very nice it was a typical CG without ocean access and $20.00 a night more expensive then Grayton Beach. We are happy with our decision to stay at Grayton.

THE HIKE and the answer to what the hell is that on the ground!

Back at the MH we prepared for our daily walk/hike. It was 52 degrees and damp so we dressed warmly, put Jewels’ coat on (she hates it) and off we went for a two-mile hike. It turned out to be very comfortable for  a hike and great exercise too.

Ron got his answer to the “stuff” on the ground that looks like coral. It’s Deer Moss. It consists of vegetation ad fungus and only grows in very sandy environments.

Tomorrow we’ll head into Pensacola and hopefully stay at Fort Pickens CG. There is an Air and Space Museum we plan on touring as well.
